The Ngouon cultural festival starts on 03-Nov. and ends on 09-Nov. 2014.
This festival is more than 600 years old. It is a come-together moment for the Bamoun people, where they can discuss ideas and their grievances as the King is present and there is no separation based on social status. In the past, it was taking place every year, but since 1996, it takes place at the beginning of December of the even years.
The Ngouon festival is made of many sporting and cultural activities: the mount Mbat Pit race, traditional dances at the palace, a mini-marathon from Foumban to Koutaba, musical concerts, movies, artistic expositions and much more. We also take time to tour the Bamenda ring road, visit the Ekom-Nkam fall and the Bafut Palace. Read More
